There is little one can do in the fruit market to differentiate one’s offer. I think this is a nice catchy idea:

Traveling around in Valcea county, I visited the Govora monastery. What really caught my eye in this monastery was a very odd depiction of St Mary:
I am not sure whether the painter never had seen a woman before painting this, or was gay, or had succumbed to the old-time idea of men impersonating women on the theatrical stage, but I find this really creepy. What do you think ?
I have to tell those of you who are on my blog for the first time that I generally shoot beautiful and interesting places
. Do check back soon (via RSS or email )
Seeing this billboard I just had to stop and shoot it, so that I could ask my friends the above mentioned question. Is a billboard like that a good sign of company policy or a bad omen ?
PS: notice the perfect Indian English
PS2: this photo was taken this summer, during a memorable trip to the western part of Romania.
Just like the Credis Academy, Last week I had a Holiday to Remember. I will prove it in the following posts, all tagged just like that. The absolute emotional peak happened in the last night there (Hunedoara, Cincis to be more exact), when we discovered that Mihai had lost the keys to the Audi. We were fortunate enough to find a train that was leaving Bucharest one hour later, find somebody that had not drunk and was able to drive to the North Station and send us the spare key via train. All things just came into place, as if Fate was compensating for our carelessness.
Being proactive to the theory that the key had not been lost, but stolen, we decided to make the car difficult to take away: we winched it near the trees, parked the LandCruiser just in front of it, and took out two of the four wheels and carried them to our rooms
Of course, we had to borrow the chef’s tools for the job, because the wheel-bolt key and the jack of the LandCruiser were both too big to use on the Audi
On the other hand, I have seen some wonderful places in this trip, so stay tuned (via RSS or email ) !
Ballet is a beautiful expressive art, and ballet dancers are gracious and have enviable bodies, right? Here is a video showing another incredible inspirational story about never backing down, never quitting, and overcoming the most difficult moments in life, to achieve the unthinkable:
The entire story is listed in a number of places on the internet, I am not sure who to credit…
In case you missed the recent example of inspirational person, I’ll just take the liberty of pointing it out, to be certain that you do not miss such an incredible story.
We humans use animal metaphors to express certain behavioral patterns that do not fit into what we consider normal for our peers. In Romanian we mainly use the semblances to the pig, donkey and the ox to bash somebody. (In recent years, we started to also use the buffalo, especially after this guy appeared on the net). Despite all the animal metaphors we have in the Romanian language and despite the vast range of animals that populate our country, the administration of the Piatra Craiului natural reservation chose to use an elk to illustrate their posters:
Yes, I know, i did intend the pun…
And what about the imagery? Kind of creepy, huh? What are your comments on this?
PS: Oh wait! just go to their site and check out the billion of elks there
Today I stumbled upon a video of a young African who (at the age of 14) built a windmill to produce electricity for his home, after seeing one in a picture in a book!
I also suggest watching William Kamkwamba at the Daily Show with John Stewart:

This is one of those persons that are plain and simple AMAZING.
Our readers are smarter than theirs said the famous motto of Academia Catavencu. In my case I want to show two images caught on different sides of the Romanian-Hungarian border. Had I shot them in Romania, I would have titled this “Eternally fascinating Romania, part…”. Enough talking, here are the guys that made today’s draft:
On the other hand, this guy in Budapest seems to think that old funcky looking Suzukis are very desirable among car thieves:
I feel the need to inform y’all that holidays are over, autumn is in full effect, so I’m back in the business of publishing photos on the blog. Be careful not to miss any masterpiece! I suggest using the RSS feed or just ask feedburner to deliver you new posts by email…
