A lot of Romanians choose Veliko Tarnovo as a holiday destination, and rightly so. It’s quite close to Bucharest, it is very nice to visit, the food is great and the prices are low.
The town used to be a capital of Bulgaria back in the days when it was a great country :), and it has a lot of nice things to show for it. I will not dare try to compete with Wikipedia in talking about the city’s history , geography, etc. I will just venture to publish some nicer images than what one can find on the web. There will be at least three posts from this trip, with the photos grouped in thematic articles. If you are now reading the first installment, please be sure you check back or read about getting free updates from this blog, at the end of the post.
This first installment covers the “street photography” category, showing random interesting and colorful photos from the old city. That’s where Bulgarians tell you that you have to go, because that’s where the interesting part is. Check it out for yourselves:

If you like these photos, come back for more from this trip, or look around for street photography posts, or maybe travel photos. There are also two methods of having new posts automagically delivered to you: via RSS feed or email .
